Every monologue session is designed to give you plenty of takes and time to create a relaxed environment to help you deliver the best possible performance. You can choose to record your monologue in a simplistic studio-like setting with a dark backdrop or in a more cinematic set up indoors in which case the footage will look more like it was plucked out of a narrative film.
I use a professional grade cinema camera and lenses paired with high-end audio recording equipment. The professionally graded and edited final cut of your high-resolution footage will be delivered to you in two different aspect ratios. This allows you to use the footage for both your showreel and social channels without having to crop in or sacrifice any quality.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW LONG CAN THE MONOLOGUE BE?
Three minutes max. It's a good idea to run the monologue and time yourself when you're trying to decide which one to pic to see if you can get through the text without rushing.
WHAT CLOTHES SHOULD I BRING?
Whatever you feel fit the text you've chosen.
HOW WILL THE MONOLOGUE BE FILMED?
You will get to decide if you want to record your monologue in a minimalistic setting, in front of a backdrop with studio lighting. Or in a more cinematic style in which case the footage will look more like something out of a professional short film production for example.
No, we can't do both.
DO I GET TO DECIDE WHICH TAKE WILL BE USED?
We will decide together on the day which take is your favorite and that will be used in the final edit.
CAN I DO A SCENE WITH A FRIEND INSTEAD OF A MONOLOGUE?
Nope. Sorry.
DO I GET TO PICK MY MONOLOGUE?
Yes, the text you want to tape is completely your own decision, but I'm happy to give advise if need be.
